On December 16, a delegation led by Liu Yong, Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company, and Li Dayong, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary, visited Chongqing University for in-depth discussions on the progress of the Joint Research Center and future cooperation plans. He Yongsheng, Deputy General Manager and Party Committee Member of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company; Shu Lichun, Party Secretary of Chongqing University; Liu Guiwen, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Chongqing University; and Liao Ruijin, former Vice President of Chongqing University, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Li Jian, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Chongqing University.
At the meeting, Shu Lichun extended a warm welcome to Liu Yong, Li Dayong, and their delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude for the long-term support and assistance that State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has provided to Chongqing University. Shu emphasized that the university has always attached great importance to the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, as well as the construction of innovation consortia. He expressed hope that both parties would further deepen and upgrade their cooperation, innovate collaboration mechanisms, enhance the quality and effectiveness of their partnership, strengthen efforts in tackling key core technologies, and achieve breakthroughs and transformation of original and disruptive innovations, thereby making greater contributions to national strategic needs.
Liu Yong expressed his appreciation for Chongqing University's strong academic foundation and research capabilities, noting that the university is a hub for scientific innovation and talent cultivation. Over the years, the collaboration between State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company and Chongqing University has yielded numerous technological achievements and nurtured a large number of high-caliber talents, providing significant support for the company's development. Liu emphasized the importance of maintaining and making full use of the innovation platform offered by the Joint Research Center, integrating the university’s research strengths with the company’s practical expertise, working together to tackle challenges and drive innovation, and accelerating the transition of scientific research from "laboratories" to "production lines," thereby transforming achievements into practical and emerging productive forces.
Prior to the meeting, Liu Yong, Li Dayong, and their delegation visited the Chongqing University History Museum and the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment Technology.
Attendees also included officials from the Office, Equipment Department, Science and Technology Department, Construction Department, and Dispatching and Control Center of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company, as well as representatives from Chongqing University's Office of Science and Technology Development, Graduate School, Infrastructure Office, School of Electrical Engineering, Xuefeng Mountain Observation and Research Station, School of Economics and Business Administration, School of Civil Engineering, College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, School of Energy and Power Engineering, and College of Materials Science and Engineering.
