Research Overview

In recent years, focusing on the national “dual-carbon” strategic goal and facing the national demand for energy development and construction of new power systems, the institute has undertaken more than 200 projects, including “973” program projects, key R&D program projects, and innovation group fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 200 projects have been undertaken, and the research results have served major national projects such as “West-East Electricity Transmission” and “Qinghai-Tibet Railway”, providing basic theories and key technology support for the construction of new-generation energy and electric power systems, and leading the winning of 3 national scientific and technological achievement awards, 12 scientific and technological achievement awards of the Ministry of Education, and 12 provincial (municipal) level scientific and technological achievement awards. It has won 3 national scientific and technological achievement awards, 12 scientific and technological achievement awards from the Ministry of Education, and 22 provincial (municipal) scientific and technological achievement awards.


The college has three national scientific research platforms, namely, the National Key Laboratory of Power Transmission and Transformation Equipment Technology, the Hunan Xuefeng Mountain National Field Scientific Observatory for Energy Equipment Safety, and the Ministry of Education Key Core Technology Integration and Tackling Platform for Space Power Conversion and Wireless Transmission, and has built research bases of international first-class level. It comprehensively strengthens the construction of innovation system, conducts organized scientific research, focuses on improving independent innovation capability, and builds joint research centers/institutes with leading enterprises such as State Grid, Southern Power Grid, China Electrical Equipment Group, Dongfang Electric Group, etc., and jointly invests advantageous resources to innovate scientific research cooperation and industry-academia-research integration.
